About Study Course
Objective
To improve knowledge about the peculiarities of age-related developmental periods of children and motor learning; to get acquainted with the principles of physiotherapy in various children's diseases; to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for working as a physiotherapist in pediatric; to improve the ability of critical thinking and decision making about the best therapeutic approach for a particular pediatric patient.
Prerequisites
Anatomy, motor control, basics of physiotherapy, functional assessment and treatment in physiotherapy.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to describe the normal development and the assessment principles of infant and child development. Will demonstrate knowledge about neurological, musculoskeletal and other disorders during childhood. Will be able to describe the main principles and physiotherapeutic approaches in the pediatric patient treatment.
Student will be able to make physiotherapeutic investigation and assessment of children, independently compile a physiotherapy plan for a specific case, will be able to choose, justify and apply the appropriate physiotherapeutic technique in pediatric settings.
Student will be able to make use of the theoretical and practical knowledge in the rehabilitation of pediatric patients.
