Objective

to promote knowledge of dissection technique and topography of the head and the neck organs, the blood vessels and nerves, and relationships between them.

Prerequisites

the compulsory course “Human Anatomy”.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

students will be able to: enumerate anatomical structures of the head and neck, to describe the topography and functions; they will be able to tell about the main traits and regularities of the blood supply, venous drainage and innervation; the students will identify the main regularities of the functions of the structures and will be able to name anatomical terms in Latin.

Skills

students will be able to: recognise and to show the anatomical structures and organs on study aids and natural preparations; to analyse, assess and compare the obtained information, to explain simple clinical tasks and to work with professional literature.

Competence

the students will know, identify and describe different anatomical structures, organs of the head and neck regions; demonstrate an understanding of the anatomical terminology, functions of the structures and organs of the head and neck areas.
