Objective

The aim of the study course is to promote the acquisition of knowledge about the role of health promotion, health education and preventive medicine in maintaining the health of the population, to develop an understanding of the importance of health-related lifestyle in health and approaches to change it, as well as to develop skills in creating a health promotion program.

Prerequisites

Public health, Social medicine, Psychology, Ethics, Sociology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

The student knows and is able to define the terms used in preventive medicine. health education and health promotion; to name the principles for the development of prevention and health promotion programs; understands and is able to present the theories used in health promotion; knows and manages the principles of organization of preventive and health promotion work, knows and is able to explain the usefulness of the methods chosen for health promotion work.

Skills

The student is able to independently perform community analysis to determine prevention priorities, target group; choose and justify the most appropriate strategy for health promotion; to prepare a health promotion program; to develop program evaluation indicators.

Competence

The student is able to argue the need for health promotion activities and plan problem solving options, justify the best type of solution, generalize the results of prevention and health promotion activities.
