Objective

Impart knowledge of operational methods, measures and their organisational provision.

Prerequisites

Criminal Process, Legal Institutions, Legal Order of Operational Activities in Latvia and Abroad. Criminal Law.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students acquire knowledge of the process of operational activities, types of investigatory records cases, control and supervision in operational work. They have knowledge of tactical techniques in case handling and transition to criminal proceedings. Students gain knowledge of the use of front organisations in investigatory records cases in Latvia and abroad.

Skills

Able to assess the situation and initiate the appropriate category of records cases, ensure timely extension for investigatory records cases. Able to assess the situation for transition from the process of operational activity to criminal proceedings.

Competence

Ability to assess the relevance of the obtained information to the investigatory records cases of the relevant category, to prepare the task for the use of detective activities and front organisation in an investigatory records case, to choose the optimal methods and measures for limiting and combating crime.
