Objective

Promote understanding of the etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of psychosomatic disorders; to develop the skills of building a therapeutic relationship between a midwife and a patient; promote the learning and application of medical psychotherapy techniques in clinical work.

Prerequisites

Interpersonal communication in health care, functional and pathological physiology, internal and surgical diseases.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students will acquire knowledge about the interaction of psychic and somatic processes, basic knowledge about the process of psychotherapy and competence in the formation of midwife-patient therapeutic relationships.

Skills

Students will develop the ability to build a therapeutic relationship with the patient and acquire skills in providing psychological support.

Competence

Students will be able to analyze the role of biological, emotional and social factors in the etiology and pathogenesis of diseases. To understand and analyze the need for psychotherapy for pregnant women, to understand the diagnostic criteria and the need for combined therapy.
