About Study Course
Objective
The purpose of the study course is to create an understanding of the development of research work: the application of theoretical knowledge, academic skills and abilities, when developing research design, work content, tasks and research questions, research methods, justifying the relevance of the work and selecting the necessary sources. The development of the study work is advised by the relevant study course a lecturer with a master's degree.
Prerequisites
Acquired study courses on the research topic or field.
Learning outcomes
Systematise, consolidate and expand the theoretical knowledge and skills of a student in addressing practical tasks; promote the acquisition of skills needed for a written research paper and the methodology of studying a specific topic (problem) (selection of sources and literature, analysis, critical evaluation, material synthesis, etc.); promote independent work and focus on self-education; help to develop skills in the promotion of legal sciences (public speaking, reasoned and logical defending and substantiating of own opinions, both orally and in writing, etc.).
Student: able to name topics and topic differences; can describe the signs of scientifically reliable sources; identifies methods and methods of interpretation of legal norms, the basis of their classification; describes the methodological elements of the research work and is able to arrange them in a logical order; describes the nature and course of presenting research results; describes the nature of the bibliography design and the criteria for the arrangement of sources.
Develop the ability to analyse and compare the information obtained, while expressing own opinions on the analytical work carried out. Be able to express own ideas and make precise legal formulations.
Student: knows how to formulate a research topic, create a table of contents (research plan); able to describe the legal problem of the research; able to formulate and describe the elements of research methodology; able to analyze scientifically reliable sources in order to formulate their thoughts, creating accurate legal formulations; able to create and write a bibliography list; able to speak in front of an audience, present the results of the research in an argumentative and logical manner, justify their opinion, answer questions.
Successful defence of the Semester Paper indicates the student’s ability to work with legal and other sources, to develop the table of contents for the Paper (plan), to determine the scope of research, to analyse the opinions of other researchers, to draw conclusions and to make proposals according to the specific character of the chosen topic.
The student: understands the methodology of research work and knows how to develop it, as well as defend it publicly; knows how to design a research paper and bibliographic sources.
