Objective

To develop and deepen professional skills based on the latest achievements in the theory and practice of the social work sector and the mastering of “good experience”.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of social work and the social security system in Latvia; knowledge of the levels of social work practice; knowledge of the organisation of social work; knowledge of clients from different target groups; knowledge of quality systems management and knowledge of psychosocial assistance.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the social security system in Latvia; organisation of social work and social services in the institution; understanding of the cooperation and the principles of establishing it in work with a client, as well as with the cooperation institutions; able to demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the quality assessment and quality management of social services.

Skills

Able to demonstrate understanding of professional ethics and values; use theoretical knowledge in evaluating the problem situation and the dynamics of the case, planning and organising the intervention process; able to analyse and assess the quality of services.

Competence

Able to manage a dispute or conflict settlement situation.
To assess the quality management system in a specific institution and analyse the results.
