Objective

To deepen and develop the knowledge, skills and competence necessary for the implementation of research, scientific and academic activities. Demonstrate the ability to raise current social issues, carry out research activities, seeking evidence-based answers and solutions to social problems, contributing to the creation of new knowledge in the social work sector.

Prerequisites

Knowledge on social work and social security system in Latvia; knowledge of levels of social work practice; and social work organization; Social and sociological research methodology, quantitative and qualitative methods at the undergraduate level; basic knowledge in data processing and data analysis.

Knowledge

1.Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of research organization and carrying out.

Skills

1.Able to independently use quantitative and qualitative research methods. Able to demonstrate an understanding of research ethics.

Competence

1.Able to analyze the results obtained in the study and discuss them. Able to offer data-based innovative solutions, contributing to the development of professional knowledge and practice in the field of social work.
