Objective

To develop English language communicative skills to be applied both in academic and vocational settings, to ensure social work related vocabulary acquisition and practical use.

Prerequisites

The English language knowledge at the secondary school level.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Having successfully acquired the course, students will be able
- to recognize professional terminology in various texts
- to recall social work related English terminology
- to describe social work related phenomena using English terminology

Skills

Having successfully acquired the course, students will be able
- to choose and apply terminology for oral and written communication (in giving presentations, in discussions, in writing texts)
- to use appropriate language structures in oral and written communication
- to make summaries both orally and in a written mode with appropriate use of terminology
- to render the contents of texts and to find certain information in various information sources

Competence

Having successfully acquired the course, students will be able to apply social work related terminology in various communicative situations.
