About Study Course
Objective
To promote the education of highly qualified specialists – senior athletic discipline coaches who would successfully plan, organise, lead and evaluate the study – training process, study – methodological classes and competitions in accordance with the rules of figure skating and standard requirements for the profession of senior athletic discipline coach.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of theory of sport, pedagogy, sports pedagogy, sports didactics, psychology or sports psychology, anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. Knowledge, skills and abilities in one of the figure skating disciplines is required.
Learning outcomes
1. Knows the nature, execution criteria of the technical elements of figure skating – steps and turns, and the methodology of teaching them.
2. Knows the nature, execution criteria of the technical elements of figure skating – jumps, and the methodology of teaching them.
3. Knows the nature, execution criteria of the technical elements of figure skating – twists, and the methodology of teaching them.
Knows how to define 6 types of jumps, 6 groups of twists and 4 types of turns and steps according to the ISU criteria.
1. Uses different study methods in the process of mastering and training of elements of figure skaters according to the abilities of students.
2. Knows how to select and use different technical elements of figure skating in creating the content of figure skating competition programmes.
3. Able to evaluate elements of figure skating competitions according to the ISU criteria.
