Objective

To provide knowledge and critical understanding of the chemical foundations of life processes in the human body, as well as the dynamics of energy and plastic processes during physical loads; to master the skills to determine and interpret data of individual analyses.

Prerequisites

The knowledge acquired at LASE in the 1st year of studies in Human anatomy, foundations of physiology and biochemistry.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1. Dynamics of biochemical processes in the human body and their correlations, biochemical peculiarities of the body of children and adolescents.
2. Changes in biochemical processes in the body during intensive physical loads of different types and in the period of recovery.
3. Biochemical justification and methods for the development of physical properties, taking into account age-specific peculiarities.

Skills

Will be able to analyse and interpret literature on sports biochemistry in certain athletic disciplines.

Competence

1. Knowing the biochemical basis, to plan the duration of the load and recovery so that the workout gives the maximum effect.
2. Ability to analyse and interpret literature on sports biochemistry in certain athletic disciplines.
