Objective

To provide students with an insight into the concept of stress, the effects of stress, the role of social support in stressful situations, the manifestations and nature of stress in professional work, the possible consequences of stress, strategies for managing stress.

Prerequisites

General psychology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students understand and explain the concept of stress, the relation of stress to human health, social support and professional work, the possible consequences of stress; understand stress management strategies.

Skills

Students reasonably discuss the relationship between stress and human health and professional work and psychological resilience, and strategies for coping with stress.

Competence

Students assess the risks of stress, explain the relationship of stress to human health and professional work; focus on stress management strategies.
