Department of Doctoral Studies
The academic year at Rīga Stradiņš University begins at the end of August/beginning of September and ends in late June.
Please note that the Academic Calendar is subject to changes and amendments, and you must be available for studies for the entire academic year. Flight tickets purchased during the study period, i.e., except for official holidays, are NOT a valid reason for missing any classes! According to Paragraph 5.10 of the University Policy, students may be excused from class attendance in plausible cases (serious health issues, death in the family, scientific conference etc.), but you must inform the Dean’s Office and submit documents confirming your absence.
