Assessment
Unaided Work:
• Expanded acquisition of additional knowledge, skills, and competencies from e-study training materials and recommended literature sources. • Evaluation of work environment risk factors in a sports environment. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
• participation in practical classes - 20%; • successfully prepared final tests: 1) assessment of risk factors of the sports environment and 2) on ergonomics in sports, defended by presenting and discussing them - 80% (each work 40%).
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam
Final Examination (Part-Time):Exam
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:By finishing the study course, the student: • will know how to name and describe environmental factors that are harmful to human health in certain environmental conditions; • will know how to name and characterise the risk factors of the work (sports) environment, including ergonomic ones; • will be able to name the measures to be taken to reduce the risk of pollution and exposure to the work environment risk factors.
Skills:By successfully finishing the study course, the student will be able to: • recognise harmful environmental and work environment factors and evaluate their degree of risk; • identify ergonomic risks in your workplace, analyse the results of ergonomic risk assessment, compare them dynamically, compare the identified problems in Latvia and the world, and analyse the impact of ergonomic risks on the quality of work and life. • recommend risk factor control measures. • independently identify and assess ergonomic risks and their effects on people, evaluate the obtained results and interpret the reliability of the data. Students will be able to evaluate the ergonomics and suitability of various sports equipment and equipment, choosing the best one.
Competencies:Upon fulfilment of the study course, the student will be able to: • use the acquired knowledge about environmental health issues in their professional activities; • put forward proposals, plan and take measures to improve environmental conditions and to prevent or reduce shortcomings in the organisation of the work environment; • will be able to provide a healthy environment for both employees and customers. • will be able to determine the most appropriate and economically justified health promotion measures at work to develop the potential of human resources, ensure the health protection of employees and create a scientifically based basis for the selection of necessary preventive measures by the requirements of Latvian legislation and European Community directives, will be able to present the obtained results in writing and orally to industry specialists, to the public, as well as to present results and solutions at scientific and practical conferences.
