Objective: | To build competence on learning to overcome diverse obstacles providing the possibility to engage in interesting, safe and health promoting physical activities, which are the basis for strengthening physical health. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | During studies, students, using lecture materials and various other sources of information, perform independent work in practical classes, test new skills and perform at seminars on: application of skills and knowledge in horizontal and vertical jumps, rolling, climbing, crawling and obstacle overcoming exercises. Choosing and selecting study methods for the development of critical thinking and decision-making skills in the field of physical activity, develops a lesson plan and assessment criteria. The final examination is an oral examination: methodology and practical use of obstacle overcoming. | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | 1. About the methodology for teaching obstacle overcoming techniques and tactics (teaching methods, study aids, forms of organisation of sports and health classes). 2. Theoretical foundations for obstacle overcoming, their rules, safety rules. 3. Assessment and self-assessment of children’s performance in learning different types of exercises. | ||||||||
Skills: | 4. To practically plan, lead obstacle overcoming and assess their learning in accordance with state pre-school education guidelines. 5. To apply age-appropriate, individually modified track and field exercises to promote children’s skills to overcome different obstacles. 6. To use obstacle overcoming in the outdoor environment. | ||||||||
Competencies: | 7. Ability to plan, lead an interdisciplinary and individualised learning process in various obstacle overcoming activities in accordance with the state pre-school education guidelines. 8. Ability to critically analyse and evaluate the pedagogical aids, methods, techniques used, their compliance with the abilities of students and education goals in diverse health-promoting obstacle overcoming activities. 9. Ability to take responsibility for classes with obstacle overcoming activities in a safe environment. 10. Ability to establish clear performance and child growth assessment criteria and test methods to overcome obstacles. 11. Ability to analyse learning outcomes in learning obstacle overcoming and track the child’s growth, identify the support measures needed to improve learning performance. 12. Ability to provide feedback in the assessment of both students and personal activities in obstacle overcoming activities. 13. Ability to creatively choose study aids in learning obstacle overcoming by integrating health and safety content, other subject areas, transversal skills and values. 14. Ability to identify security hazards and risks in different environments and situations while overcoming obstacles, take preventive safety measures, choosing the most appropriate problem-solving strategies. | ||||||||
