Preliminary Knowledge:
IBSE courses mastered during 1st year of study.
Objective:
To conduct independent research work on international business and start-up entrepreneurship topics, based on the knowledge and skills acquired during the 1st year of study, choosing the research topic, substantiating the research need, topicality, setting the research aim, tasks, hypothesis, and its findings in the conclusion.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Collection and analysis of theoretical material – work with different sources of information. Independent research and analysis of a practical situation. Preparation of the presentation of the semester paper and defence of the paper.
Assessment Criteria:
Compliance of the semester paper format with RSU methodical instructions – at least 70% compliance with the instructions. The quality of the semester paper content: 50% of the final grade. Semester paper presentation: 50% of the final assessment.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students are able to demonstrate knowledge of the necessity, nature and structure of the research. Students apply knowledge of the principles of searching and structuring information sources. Students are able to demonstrate knowledge of research work and methods used. Students develop the ability to do independent research work in international business and/or start-up business, justifying the topicality of the topic, setting out the research purpose, tasks, hypothesis, using research methods.
Skills:Students acquire practical skills in the development of scientific work by extending and systematising (arranging) theoretical knowledge and acquiring the ability to apply it in the research of the chosen topic, formulation of problems and elaboration of reasoned conclusions and suggestions. Students develop the skills to perform data analysis, as well as to summarise and formulate analytical views on different theories, as well as to formulate (formulate and present) conclusions on the research work done. Students develop the ability to carry out analytical research. Students develop skills to analyse business environment. Students develop the ability to assess the risks and opportunities of starting a business. Students develop the ability to identify changes and developments in economic trends. Students improve their understanding of economic interconnections.
Competencies:Ability to present and defend own work and to express analytical position on the questions asked. Ability to develop logical and structured research in economics and management of international business and new entrepreneurship. Students are able to compile, structure and present forecasts of industry developments and trends.
