Information literacy.
Objective:
To develop an understanding of research, its meaning, research terms, categories, research approaches and theories and to be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in research.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Search research, scientific articles in databases on the relevant topic. Formulate a research topic, set a goal, hypothesis or research question. Choose and formulate research methods and tools. Read scientific articles, prepare the substantiation of the research topicality. Prepare a research topic application. If necessary, prepare and submit documents to the ethics committee. Carry out a study and summarize the results of the study. Analyze the results and draw conclusions. Design and defence the study work.
Assessment Criteria:
Defence (Semester paper) in the 3rd semester - Compliance of the study paper format with RSU methodological instructions 20%. The quality of the content of the study work 40%. Presentation of the study paper 40%. Defence (Semester paper) in the 4th semester - pre-defense of research work. Correspondence of the content of the submitted final work to the chosen topic (15%); Formulation of the research goal, tasks and hypothesis or research question (15%): Presentation of research results, its visibility and comprehensibility (15%); Correspondence of the conclusions to the aim and tasks of the work (15%); Compliance of the submitted work with the specified main formal requirements (visual design, volume, style, grammar, etc.) (15%); Comprehensibility of speech, observance of structure and time limit (15%); Ability to answer questions and participate in discussions (10%).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:During the study process the student will acquire the most important aspects of research, ethical principles, will know the types, methods and tools of research.
Skills:As a result of the study course acquisition the student will be able to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, will be able to analyze research papers, determine scientific categories, set the aim of the research and organize the research process, achieving the research result.
Competencies:Will be able to constantly analyze scientific literature and carry out practical research.
