Objective:
To provide basic knowledge of personality theories and to develop an understanding of classical and modern personality theories. To develop an understanding of the course of the historical development of personality theories and the current situation, the versatility of theoretical strategies and their evaluation criteria. To enrich students' knowledge of personality psychology and development, regularities of personality development at different ages, to develop the ability to recognize and make observations in accordance with development criteria.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
1. Independently consolidate lecture material, systematically read the sources and literature referred to. 2. To carry out independent work, identifying 5 protective mechanisms of the psyche in one's own life. 3. Prepare for the final examination.
Assessment Criteria:
1. Active participation in all 8 workshops. Evaluation criteria: 1 point for participation in a seminar. A total of 8 points is possible for participation in the workshops. 2. Independent work - identify examples of 5 defense mechanisms of the psyche in your own life and describe them according to the following criteria: 1) description of the PDM (with reference to the literature where the PDM is described/defined), 2) manifestation/application of the PDM in the student's life, 3) self-reflection on each PDM. Assessment criteria: 0-2 points are possible for each criterion of the PDM example (0 - criterion not met, 1 - criterion partially met, 2 - criterion fully met). A total of 6 points are possible for each PDM description. A total of 5 PDM signatures can be awarded 30 points. 3. Final examination (test) (31 questions). Assessment criteria: 0-2 points are possible for each answer (0 - no answer or incorrect, 1 - partially correct, 2 - completely correct). In total, 62 points are possible for the final examination paper. A total of 100 points can be obtained for all the final works in the study course, divided by 10 to give the final grade.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Analyzes and compares theories of personality and developmental psychology, explains the basic problems and facts analyzed in personality and developmental psychology, describes development processes using professional terminology, describes the main theories and processes in personality development.
Skills:Explains the most important concepts of personality, stages of personality development and factors influencing the development and formation of personality; is able to critically evaluate theories of personality, their scientific validity, practical usefulness and limits of application.
Competencies:Is able to analyze a description of a particular behavior using different personality approaches; uses the acquired knowledge and skills for a deeper analysis of specific cases.
