Preliminary Knowledge: | Knowledge acquired during the Bachelor’s degree programme related to the psychologist’s professional activity and ethics. | ||||||||
Objective: | To deepen the students’ understanding of the legal and ethical framework for the psychologist’s activity and to develop ethical sensitivity and skills needed for solution of ethical dilemmas, including documenting own activities. To develop understanding of entrepreneurship in the profession of a psychologist. To develop skills of applying legal and ethical principles in case studies of dilemmas in psychology. To develop understanding of the responsibility of a psychologist in solving legal and ethical issues. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | 1. Students revise the lecture material independently, they read the given sources systematically and regularly, prepare for and take part in discussions. 2. Conduct an interview: independently conduct an interview and prepare a presentation (presentation – PowerPoint/Pecha Kucha) about the professional activity of a psychologist. 3. At the end of the study course, provide feedback (fill in the form) about the study course. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | 1. Conduct an interview about the professional activity of a psychologist (60%). 2. Prepare a presentation based on the prepared report and present it to the student group (PechaKucha) (40%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Students describe the principles of the legal framework for professional activity, explain the professional activity using regulating documentation (including requirements of labour and labour protection, fire protection, personal data protection, requirements of regulatory enactments and principles of private life; basic principles of professional and general ethics). Describe the ethical dilemmas of a psychologist's professional performance. | ||||||||
Skills: | Students apply their knowledge to analyse the Code of Ethics and legal regulations and to deal with ethical issues. Students apply the steps and ethical sensitiveness in solution of ethical dilemmas. Students demonstrate and explain the limits of their professional competence. Students explain to the representatives of their own and other professions their professional activities, goals and tasks, opportunities and limitations. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Students comply with the regulation of the professional activity and the Code of Ethics to organise their practical work and to handle the existent situations within the practice. They adhere to the Code of Ethics for Psychologists and regulatory documents regulating the field of psychology. | ||||||||
