Preliminary Knowledge: | Personality psychology, psychological assessment, psychological counselling. | ||||||||
Objective: | To provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge of arts (visual art, music, dance and movement, drama) techniques and methods used in psychological assessment and counselling in different work environments. To develop skills to apply art techniques and methods as well as symbols and metaphors in the process of psychological assessment and psychological counselling. To develop the ability to create an individual psychological counselling strategy using artistic methods in individual work and group in different professional work environments. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | Reading the literature; writing a professional diary; a summary of four art-based methods and techniques; demonstration of relaxation techniques. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | 1. Activity in lectures and classes (10%) 2. Systematic reading of literature, a summary of four art-based methods and techniques (20%) 3. Demonstration of two different art-based methods/techniques in psychological assessment or counselling for the client individually or in groups using modelling (50%) 4. Knowledge: | Students describe creative methods and techniques used in psychological assessment and psychological counselling in different work environments, explain their possibilities and limitations. | ||||||||
Skills: | To set targets for psychological help. Choose the most appropriate methods of psychological help. To develop a strategy of psychological counselling according to the set goals. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Using their acquired knowledge of creative methods and techniques, students demonstrate an art-based psychological assessment and psychological counselling methods/techniques through modelling. By analysing their consultant skills during modelling, students recognize their professional limitations and capabilities. | ||||||||
