Preliminary Knowledge: | General knowledge of the professional activity of a psychologist at the bachelor's level. | ||||||||
Objective: | To deepen the master's students' understanding of the areas of professional activity of psychologists, including clinical and health psychology, consultative, organizational, military, educational and legal psychology, as well as the specifics of psychological counseling and support in various areas of professional activity of a psychologist. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | 1. Independently prepared paper (3-5 pages) and presentation of main findings (30 minutes) on a selected topic related to psychological counseling. 2. Prepare an evidence-based description of a previously drawn case in the specified field of professional activity, describing the specifics of psychological research, psychological counseling and assistance for the specific case in the specific field of the psychologist's professional activity. 3. Prepare a video clip from the psychological counseling session (25 minutes of work with the client - role play) and reflection. 4. Provide feedback at the end of the study course (fill in the questionnaire). | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | 1. Test on the general questions of the professional field of psychologists, which are in line with the course topics - intermediate test (20%). 2. In the specified time, a description of a previously drawn study case in the specified field of professional activity has been submitted, in accordance with the requirements (40%). • in accordance with the client's needs, an achievable goal of psychological counseling is set and justified; • selected methods of psychological assistance are described and justified according to the client's needs; • planned process of psychological assistance. 3. A video clip from the psychological counseling session was handed over at the specified time (40%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Students use terminology that characterizes the professional fields of clinical and health psychology, counseling psychology, work and organizational psychology, military psychology, educational and school psychology, and legal psychology in relation to psychological counseling, and the provision of psychological support. | ||||||||
Skills: | Based on the description of the learning case and in accordance with the characteristics of the professional field of psychologists, students correctly apply knowledge to choose methods of psychological counseling or psychological support and plan the process of psychological support. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Students correctly apply knowledge and skills to independently develop a work plan for psychological counseling and support according to the psychologist's professional scope, based on a case description (study case), and also choose suitable psychological assessment methods and psychological counseling strategy, evaluating the limitations. | ||||||||
