Preliminary Knowledge:
Art therapy theories, research methodology.
Objective:
To develop master's students' ability for self-reflection and self-positioning in various professional contexts, linking theory and practice.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Prepare an essay on art and art therapy in your specialization. In groups, develop a comparison of psychological concepts for at least 3 psychological theories. Prepare a research-based rationale for working with the given case. Assess your professional needs and create a growth and further education plan.
Assessment Criteria:
Prepared and submitted essay on art and art therapy in your specialization according to the given criteria (25%). In groups of 3, a comparison of psychological concepts relevant to art therapy for at least 3 psychological theories was developed and presented using at least 5 theoretical criteria (25%). A research-based rationale for working with the given case was prepared and submitted on time (25%). Assess your professional needs and develop a growth and further education plan, present it (25%).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Describes and compares the various functions of art, orients itself in the language of art. Analyzes and compares psychological theories relevant to the practice of art therapy in order to select the most appropriate art therapy approach according to the patient/client's difficulties, resources and set goals. Selects and analyzes research in art therapy to develop one's practice. Describes the theoretical framework of myths, symbols and images in a professional context.
Skills:Explains the various functions of art and the specifics of their application in art therapy. Clarifies the diverse possibilities of the art medium in the therapeutic process and discusses the peculiarities of the language of art in professional practice in their specialization. Creates integrative models to conceptualize one's work in art therapy in one's specialty, in accordance with professional ethics and research findings, taking into account patient/client difficulties, resources, and therapeutic goals. Analyze, summarize and integrate findings from scientific literature in relation to practice. Uses symbols, images, myths and metaphors in identifying professional development needs and formulating goals for further development
Competencies:The ability to conceptualize one's own practice and connect knowledge from scientific literature with practice, involving self-reflection and professional self-positioning. The ability to create an art therapy strategy according to one's specialization, patient/client resources and set goals, choosing the most appropriate art therapy approach. Ability to connect findings from scientific literature with practice. The ability to identify one's professional resources and areas to be improved, and to choose an appropriate way to improve one's professional development.
