European Day of Languages is an annual event that is held on 26 September. It provides the opportunity to highlight the wide variety of languages in Europe, to promote cultural and language diversity and to encourage people of all age groups to learn foreign languages.
The European Commission and Council of Europe launched the European Day of Languages and it was first marked in 2001 – the European Year of Languages. On the European Day of Languages in Latvia's Centenary year, the RSU Language Centre invites everyone to maintain their language, take pride in it and to speak the language properly.
Sometimes it is hard to decide which word is more appropriate. For this reason, the Language Centre is organising a flash mob on 26 September at 10:00 in the lobby of the RSU central building and invites all students and colleagues to complete a language test to test their Latvian language skills. Participants with the most correct answers will be awarded a prize. If there are any questions we will gladly assist.
International students are also invited to test their Latvian language skills.
