Preliminary Knowledge: | Systematic attendance of group classes, good physical fitness, sense of music and rhythm, skills in choreography. | ||||||||
Objective: | To promote practical and theoretical knowledge of choreography, the use of various equipment and methods in fitness group classes, as well as learn how to modify the class according to the physical fitness of attendees. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | Independently studies handouts, e-study materials and literature sources specified by the lecturer. Compiles and prepares the synopses of various fitness group lessons, submits videos of various fitness group lessons showing the learned skills and competences. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | An exam that consists of an oral answer to one theory question (20%) and a practical part by conducting a shortened fitness group class (80%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | As a result of the study course students will: tell about choreography preparation and teaching methods; be able to describe different types of fitness group classes; describe the training methods of the exercises; will be able to describe physiological and biomechanical processes during group exercise; evaluate safe and non-traumatic exercise techniques; will be able to list the basic principles of choosing a musical accompaniment. | ||||||||
Skills: | As a result of the study course students will be able to: compile training programs for different levels of fitness preparation; perform various aerobic steps, their combinations, strenght and Pilates exercise complexes, use different equipment in fitness group classes; demonstrate and explain the exercise learning techniques. | ||||||||
Competencies: | As a result of the study course students will be able to: plan and conduct a different types of fitness group classes, apply pedagogical and psychological knowledge during the course management; apply an appropriate type of load dosing in fitness group classes. | ||||||||
