Preliminary Knowledge:
Basics of public health.
Objective:
The aim of the study course is to form students' understanding and to promote the acquisition of knowledge about the diversity of public health issues. To acquaint with methods of cognition of public health problems and their use in identification, control and reduction of public health problems.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Situation analysis, compilation of statistical data with analysis, preparation and presentation of presentations. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
Work in small groups with presentations, situation analysis, written essays, statistical data summaries with analysis, and written exam. 1. Class attendance, and group work - mandatory. 2. Development of independent work on prevention - 50%. 3. Exam - 50%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Name methods for identifying and analyzing public health problems; to list the main public health problems and their causes; outline solutions to problems.
Skills:Select public health information; to calculate basic demographic and disease incidence indicators; to prepare and present an analysis of a specific public health problem.
Competencies:Critically and comparatively evaluate the public health situation using information sources characterizing public health; to substantiate tasks in solving public health problems; to plan the activities of a public health specialist in a specific situation.
