Objective:
To develop an understanding of the course of historical development of personality theories, the current situation and the diversity of theoretical positions and their evaluation criteria. To deepen the students' knowledge about the psychology of development, the regularities of personality development at different age stages, to develop the ability to observe according to developmental criteria and to analyze personality development.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Part of the course "Psychology of Personality": 1. Independent study of the literature on personality theories in psychology. 2. To prepare for and carry out an independent work - identification of 5 psyche defence mechanisms in student's life. 3. Prepare for the final test on personality theories in psychology. Part of the course "Developmental Psychology" : 1. Independently study the literature on personality development in certain age stages, a control test is completed for each age stage. 2. Make an observation of a child, describe his behavior in detail in the child's observation diary or conduct a structured adult interview about developmental crises and analyze it in the context of the theory of developmental psychology and age-related developmental features; Prepare a presentation and present the results in class. Include in the presentation no less than 2 studies (starting from 2017) on the use of art therapy for clients/patients of the respective age group. 3. Active participation in lectures and classes. 4. At the end of the study course, the student must provide an assessment of the study course.
Assessment Criteria:
The final examination consists of the average of the final grades in both parts of the course - "Psychology of Personality" (50%) and Developmental Psychology" (50%). In the "Psychology of Personality" part of the study course: 1. Independent work (50% of the total grade in the course part) - identification of 5 psyche defence mechanisms (PDM) in one's own life. Requirements for the independent work: Identify and describe 5 PDMs in your own life. The description should include: (a) a description of the PDM (with reference to the literature where the PDM is described/defined), (b) the manifestation/application of the PDM in the student's life, (c) a self-reflection on each PDM. Assessment criteria: 0-2 points are possible for each criterion of the PDM example (0 - criterion not met, 1 - criterion partially met, 2 - criterion fully met). A total of 6 points are possible for each PDM description. A total of 30 points are possible. 2. A TEST (electronic) (representing 50% of the total mark in the course) on the lecture material of the course (to be completed in e-studies, time to be agreed with the students). "Developmental Psychology" part: 1. Control tests on development at certain age stages (accounts for 50% of the total evaluation in the course part); 2. Presentation of a child's observation or an adult's interview (30% of the total evaluation in the course part). 3. Active participation in classes (20% of the total grade in the course part).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Analyse and compare theories of personality and developmental psychology, explain the basic problems and facts analysed in personality and developmental psychology, describe the developmental process in professional terms, describe the basic theories and processes in personality development.
Skills:Assess cognitive and psychosocial development at different ages, recognise other people's psyche defence mechanisms in everyday life.
Competencies:Interprets the findings of personality and developmental psychology and art therapy in the context of specialisation. Uses theoretical concepts of personality and developmental psychology to analyze the development and adult life history of a specific child. Interprets developmental psychological patterns from a holistic perspective.
