Objective: | To develop comprehension of contemporary personality theories and personality traits and their relation to health, perception of illness and behaviour that promotes and compromises health; to enhance comprehension of the role of personality factors in medical treatment process, incl., compliance and activation, strengthening, effective application of inner resources of personality as means of maintaining and improvement of health. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | 1. To independently consolidate the lecture material by systematically reading the specified sources and study materials, and filling out the tests after the video lectures. 2. To analyse 4 scientific articles on the topic that is independently chosen (in line with the topics of the study course) and prepare a presentation, an evidence-based explanation, present it in the class and participate in the discussion. 3. To participate in the group work in order to analyse the given case study and to model solutions for the problem given in the case study. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | The final rating is a cumulative rating consisting of: (1) participation in practical classes (a student is qualified to receive a final grade in a study course if he / she has attended at least 75% of the classes); (2) completed tests on lecture materials (60%); (3) individual presentation – analysis of scientific articles on an independently chosen (in line with the topics of the study course) topic (40%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Describes contemporary personality theories, characterises genetic and neurobiological grounds of personality, explains relation between various personality factors, disease and health, including behaviour that compromises and promotes health. | ||||||||
Skills: | Explains the most important concepts and relations in personality psychology, understanding the role of personality characterisation in medical treatment. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Applies the acquired knowledge and skills while solving psychology-based situations related to prevention, maintenance and recovery of health. | ||||||||
