Preliminary Knowledge: | General knowledge of the professional activity of a psychologist at the bachelor's level. | ||||||||
Objective: | To deepen the master's students' of the understanding of the professional competencies of a psychologist in psychological counseling. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | 1. Independently prepared paper (3-5 pages) and presentation of main findings (30 minutes) on a selected topic related to psychological counseling. 2. Prepare a video clip from the psychological counseling session (25 minutes of work with the client - role play) and reflection. Pair work. 3. Analysis of one student's video fragment of psychological counseling skills according to the observation form 4. Provide feedback at the end of the study course (fill in the questionnaire). | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | 1. Test on the general questions of the professional field of psychologists, which are in line with the course topics - intermediate test (10%). 2. an independently prepared paper on the pre-selected topic is handed in on the due date (40%): 1) the paper has a structure - introduction, discussion and conclusion -1 point 2) Analysis of recent scientific literature and use of appropriate references 2 points 3) The paper contains a practical assignment/formulary appropriate to the topic - 1 point 3. A video clip from the psychological counseling session was handed over at the specified time (40%). 4.One observation form for analysis of video excerpt from psychological counselling session submitted on time (10%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Students use terminology that characterizes the professional fields of clinical and health psychology, counseling psychology, work and organizational psychology, military psychology, educational and school psychology, and legal psychology in relation to psychological counseling, and the provision of psychological support. | ||||||||
Skills: | Based on the description of the learning case and in accordance with the characteristics of the professional field of psychologists, students correctly apply knowledge to choose methods of psychological counseling or psychological support and plan the process of psychological support. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Students correctly apply knowledge and skills to independently develop a work plan for psychological counseling and support according to the psychologist's professional scope, based on a case description (study case), and also choose suitable psychological assessment methods and psychological counseling strategy, evaluating the limitations. | ||||||||
