Department of Orthopaedics lecturers on Erasmus+ teaching mobility to Israel
Continuing the long-standing and successful cooperation between the Department of Orthopaedics of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine of Bar-Ilan University, from 8 to 14 December the Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, Prof. Andris Jumtiņš and Assist. Prof. Ruta Jakušonoka went on a teaching mobility to Israel within the frame of the Erasmus+ K107 programme. They held classes for students of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine of Bar-Ilan University.
During the visit, Andris Jumtiņš and Ruta Jakušonoka met with the Dean of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine Prof. Karl Skorecki, Director of Ziv Medical Center Salman Zarka, Head of the Department of Orthopaedics of the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine/Ziv Medical Center and author of numerous international publications, Prof. Alexander Lerner. They discussed further cooperation opportunities between the RSU Department of Orthopaedics and the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine/Ziv Medical Center.

This was followed by a visit to Ziv Medical Center, later the participants shared their experience regarding the treatment of victims of armed conflicts and disasters.
Finally, Assist. Prof. Ruta Jakušonoka gave a presentation on the results of the study conducted by RSU and the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine/Ziv Medical Center during the 38th Annual Meeting of the Israel Orthopaedic Association.
