Pharmaceutical technology and/or biopharmaceutics research group leader

Job summary:

Riga Stradins University (Riga, Latvia) is currently recruiting a research group leader qualified in pharmaceutical technology and/or biopharmaceutics.

LOCATION - 
Riga, Latvia
TYPE OF CONTRACT - Permanent
EMPLOYMENT - Full-time
WEEKLY WORKING TIME - 40 hours
CAREER PROFILE - R3/R4

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in pharmaceutical technology or related fields
  • Experience in pharmaceutical technology or biopharmaceutics research
  • Internationally recognized research activities (e.g. publications peer-reviewed journals)
  • Research projects participation/leading experience
  • Experience in the independent acquisition of competitive third-party funds
  • Good leadership and management skills
  • Active cooperation with research institutions within and outside the EU
  • English language proficiency level C1

​​​​​Duties and responsibilities:

  • Pharmaceutical technology and/or biopharmaceuticals research group leading
  • Research process management and development
  • Participation in public and private competitive research projects contests, funding rise
  • Research article publication in peer-reviewed journal
  • PhD students’ research supervision
  • Contribution in RSU Faculty of Pharmacy scientific strategy development
  • Participation in activities to acquire funding for research and innovation from third parties. Submission of grant applications, implementation of contractual cooperation, etc.

  • Independent research ability
  • Ambition to develop knowledge of research methodologies and discipline
  • Good analytical skills, ability to generate reasonable research ideas
  • Good communication skills
  • Contribution through original research that extends the frontier of knowledge by developing a substantial body of work, innovations or applications
  • Management of career progress, setting realistic and achievable career goals, identifying and developing ways to improve employability

  • CV (should include academic qualifications, publication list, mobility experience, management and fundraising experience)
  • Motivation letter, particularly outlining experience in pharmaceutical technology or biopharmaceutics
  • Optional - recommendation letters on leadership skills and teamwork
  • Research plan – to be submitted in the second round of the selection process
