Research

The travelling exhibition Research Latvia 2024, created by the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES), continues to inspire with stories about 12 Latvian researchers. On 3 – 16 June, everyone is welcome to take a closer look at the researchers’ achievements in various fields of science and read their messages in the lobby of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) at 16 Dzirciema iela.

This exhibition tells the story of 12 outstanding personalities in their field. Their research contributes to finding solutions to global challenges and everyday problems in areas such as heterogeneous single-chip systems and their programming, innovative polymers, lithium and sodium ion battery materials, satellite data and geographic information systems, molecular genetics and functional genomics, fluorine and supramolecular chemistry, sustainable management of land resources and landscapes, creative entrepreneurship, sustainable materials in packaging, wastewater monitoring and treatment.

‘Research requires patience, persistent interest, creativity, and clarity about the goal to achieve important results,’ emphasises one of the featured reserachers, Dr. Linda Gailīte, Lead Researcher and Head of the RSU Scientific Laboratory of Molecular Genetics.

Visitors have the opportunity not only to view portraits of each researcher, but also to watch a three-minute video story about each of them by scanning a QR code with their smartphone.
