RSU Associate Professor Jānis Ķīsis Has Passed Away

Assoc. Prof. Ķīsis was outstanding at promoting his principal specialty in Latvia, both as a doctor and as a researcher. He taught several generations of dermatologists and venereologists and had delivered lectures and conducted practical classes at the University since 1988.

Assoc. Prof. Ķīsis established his own dermatology clinic, founded the Association of Latvian Dermatovenerology, and was a Board Member of the Latvian Association of Aesthetic Medicine. He was among the first Latvian dermatologists to become a member of both the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and the American Academy of Dermatology, and has remained in this position for many years. Assoc. Prof. Ķīsis was an excellent teacher for young researcher and he successfully supervised the defence of four doctoral theses.
