Objective

To facilitate the acquisition of theoretical knowledge about human normal anatomy and physiology. To give an idea of the impact of internal and external factors on the human body and its responses. To stimulate interest and understanding of epidemiology and research principles in medicine, so that the acquired knowledge serves as a basis for well-thought-out and comprehensible data analysis for a biostatistics specialist.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of human anatomy and biology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students will gain advanced knowledge, will describe and characterize the most common internal and infectious diseases, their aetiology, clinical phenomena, diagnostic possibilities.

Skills

Students will be able to independently prepare a data analysis plan, taking into account the history, and course of the most common internal and infectious diseases.

Competence

To apply knowledge of argumentation, logic and rhetoric to analyse and to assess clinical situations in internal medicine, as well as to reasoned one’s opinion about them. When faced with patient data, the student is able to professionally plan the design of the study and interpret the obtained statistical results, taking into account the aetiology and course of the disease.
