Medical Education Technology Centre (METC)
The Rīga Stradiņš University Medical Education Technology Centre was opened in 2013, introducing the first simulation-based approach to medical and healthcare education in Latvia.
Mission
To lead the way in the implementation of the Simulation-Based Medical Education (SBME) approach and to ensure the development of the highest quality simulation-based educational activities and their implementation in the medical and healthcare field in order to enhance the quality of healthcare in Latvia and the safety of patients and medical practitioners.
Vision
To be a modern SBME implementation, research and innovation centre of national importance, recognised in Europe.
Aim
To improve the quality of medical and healthcare education by incorporating innovative and simulation-based teaching methods and tools into the learning process to enhance the quality of healthcare and the safety of patients and medical practitioners.
