Rīga Stradiņš University informs that the 2021/2022 academic year will start on 30 August 2021. Because of the university’s positive experience with online studies during the pandemic in achieving learning outcomes, as well as the need to ensure the control of student flow on site, the study process will take place on site during the 2021/2022 academic year. Nevertheless, up to 50% of studies can be organised remotely in social science study programmes, and up to 20% in medical and health care study programmes.

From 30 August 2021 to 10 October 2021, the study process will still take place remotely, with the exception of the practical parts of various study programmes that are necessary for the acquisition of professional skills; clinical placements in residency in compliance with the epidemiological safety requirements of the medical institutions in question; the cases provided for in the Dean's decree regarding individual study programmes, if this is necessary in order to ensure the appropriate study process.

People can study on-site until 10 October 2021 if they fall into one of three categories:

  • those holding an interoperable vaccination certificate;
  • those holding an interoperable recovery certificate;
  • those holding an interoperable testing certificate.
From 11 October 2021 onwards, only people holding interoperable vaccination or recovery certificates can participate in their studies on-site.

Additionally, the International Admissions Office (regarding international applicants) and the International Student Department (regarding international students) will collect information about the time of arrival of applicants and students and their residence address in the Republic of Latvia.
