Video and Photographs of RSU Residents’ Graduation Ceremony

On Friday, 24 September, 140 residents graduated from Riga Stradiņš University (RSU), becoming full-fledged physicians. Photos from the graduation ceremony are available here — FLICKR.

44 different professions are represented among this year's graduates - 16 general practitioners, 11 emergency physicians, 9 paediatricians, 8 radiologists, 7 anaesthetists resuscitators and other professions. Out of all graduates, 37 residents completed their residency studies in a medical institution outside of Riga, and it is expected that they will continue their work at these medical institutions after they complete their residency studies.

'Being able to complete their residency studies during Covid-19, studying and fighting the pandemic at the same time, is a testament to these young doctors' abilities.

Often, the burden of the health care system is borne by residents, and our residents were often on the front lines, on duty and saving people's lives,' emphasises RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons.
