Rīga Stradiņš University Elects New Senate
For Students
For RSU Employees
On Thursday, 23 September, the Constitutional Assembly of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) elected a new team of senators.
The newly elected members of the Senate
- Professor and associate professor representatives: Jānis Gardovskis, Aivars Lejnieks, Tatjana Koķe, Ilze Akota, Andris Sprūds, Ilze Grope, Andris Jumtiņš, Gunta Lazdāne, Ivars Vanadziņš, Māra Pilmane, Ludmila Vīksna, Nora Jansone-Ratinika, Dace Gardovska, Dace Rezeberga un Anda Rožukalne;
- Academic staff representatives: Mārtiņš Daugulis, Toms Baumanis, Ingus Skadiņš, Uldis Doniņš, Kitija Bite, Toms Pulmanis, Karina Palkova un Daiga Behmane;
- The administrative staff will be represented by Sarmīte Zeire;
- Student representatives are elected by the RSU Student Union.
The new Senate will meet for its first sitting on 12 October 2021 at 15:00.
The Senate is a collegial higher academic decision-making body of the university, which is responsible for the excellence, development and compliance of the university's education, research and creative activities with internationally recognised quality standards. The Senate regulates the academic, creative and scientific fields of activity of the university. The Senate protects and ensures academic freedom of academic staff and students within the scope of the autonomy of the higher education institution.
