On 16 and 17 March Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host the largest student conference in the Baltic region - Health and Social Science. The student conference is organised by RSU and this is the fourth year that the conference has taken on an international dimension. This year’s conference will bring together over 270 participants from Latvia and abroad, 83 competent and professional jury members headed by the Head of the Department of Internal Diseases Prof. Aivars Lejnieks and over 1000 listeners.
This year's conference is themed Contemporary Social Dynamics and Welfare: Urban and Rural Development Perspectives.

Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA) in Cologne (Germany) is the collaborating centre for the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1983. For the last 15 years the main focus of the centre’s activities has been sexual and reproductive health education. A number of documents developed under the guidance of this WHO collaborating centre are well known in Europe and elsewhere.
On March 5, the President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis paid a visit to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). During the visit the president was given a tour of the medical Education Technology Centre and the Pre-clinical training room at the Faculty of Dentistry to learn about the experience that RSU has gained in using simulation equipment for medical training.
