A.Sprūds has been working for RSU since 1998, lectures on international relations and is head of the Master’s study programme International Governance and Diplomacy. Since 2011 the professor holds the position of director of the Latvian Institute of International Affairs and is a publicly recognised international policy expert.

On Wednesday 7 March, at 18:00 a concert will be performed in the Great Hall at Rīga Stradiņš University by Emīls Dārziņš Music School Symphony Orchestra, titled "Pa ceļam uz dienvidiem" (Heading south), conducted by Andris Vecumnieks.

On 2nd March 2018, Prof. Göran Pershagen from Karolinska Institutet in Sweden will give a guest lecture titled Health effects of air pollution and noise – Experience of studies from Stockholm, organised by the RSU Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
The lecture will be held in English.
The Annual Medicine Awards 2017, established with the aim to recognise outstanding medical personalities for their contribution in the fields of medicine were presented on 9 February in the Culture Palace Ziemeļblāzma. Each year the awards are presented by the Latvian Medical Association, and considered to be among the most significant annual events in medicine. Medical students have chosen RSU Assoc. Prof. Dzintra Kažoka as Medical Lecturer of the Year.
