Aim

The overarching goal of HBM4EU is to generate knowledge to inform the safe management of chemicals and so to protect human health. Human biomonitoring will also be used to understand human exposure to chemicals and the resulting impact on health, as well as to communicate with policy makers, to ensure that the results are utilised in the development of political regulations concerning chemicals and in the evaluation of existing measures

Description

Within the framework of the HBM4EU project, the Rīga Stradiņš University DDVVI (Institute for Occupational Safety and Environmental Health) acts as a Latvian national hub and contact point, coordinating project activities between the European project managers and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia, VIAA (State Education Development Agency) and other parties interested in the development of a biomonitoring system. RSU DDVVI is involved in compiling in the results of the existing biomonitoring research in Latvia and the dissemination of information to project coordinators
