Biomaterials in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (MUSZKK_019)
About Study Course
Objective
To acquire knowledge of different types of biomaterials used in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of oral and maxillofacial anatomy, bone soft tissue and cartilage morphology and regeneration.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, the students will be able to systematize biomaterials in groups; to describe properties of biomaterials, to define biocompability, biodegradation and tissue regeneration mechanisms in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
On successful completion of the course the students will have the ability to evaluate properties of biomaterials, biodegradation and biocompatibility.
On successful completion of the course the students will be able to apply the basic principles of the selection of biomaterials for further clinical subjects in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
