Objective

To develop the skill to choose and use methods and techniques according to the situation and the specificity of the group of clients/patients, to provide Master’s students with an opportunity to master drama therapy methods and techniques in dealing with different groups of clients/patients, to develop the skills to apply therapeutic interventions and techniques in the therapeutic process appropriately.

Prerequisites

Professional Activity in Arts Therapy and Its Legal Basis; Evaluation Principles and Process in Arts Therapy; Personality and Development Psychology; Individual Consultancy in Arts Therapy; Drama Therapy I.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students describe and compare different branches of drama therapy and explain the peculiarities of drama therapy process organisation while dealing with various groups of clients/patients. Describe the specificity of the individual and group drama therapy process. Substantiate the choice of various drama therapy methods and techniques within the context of a group of patients. Analyse the structure of the drama therapy process.

Skills

Can choose drama therapy methods and techniques appropriately for different groups of clients/patients and the aim of drama therapy and use them in a therapeutic situation, can partially execute protocols. Apply drama therapy methods and techniques in accordance with the aim of drama therapy, manage the drama therapy process, analyse the dynamics of drama therapy and interpret the results obtained. Reflect empathetically, adapt to the client/patient and gradually form non-verbal relationship, give the client/patient verbal and non-verbal support. Discuss the drama therapy approaches in an argued manner.

Competence

Experience in the selection of drama therapy methods and techniques, in the management of the drama therapy process in groups and individually. The student demonstrates the ability to analyse drama therapy process, the strengths and weaknesses of their own collaboration with the patient, have experience in self-reflection.
