Objective

To introduce doctoral students to the trends of economic transformation in the 21st century, the concept of sustainability in economics and business development and to extend knowledge and adopt a pro-active approach, understanding the huge impact of the digital economy on economic potential and well-being.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Doctoral students are able to demonstrate that they are familiar with and understand current trends in economic transformation and the concept of sustainability in economic and business development. They are able to demonstrate understanding of the impact of digital economy on national industrial policy, social policy and regional development in the European Union and the world.

Skills

1.Doctoral students are able to assess independently the impact of various changes related to economics and business management theory relevant to industrial, social and regional policies; critically evaluate productivity growth in the digital age and to build a scientifically based judgement on digitalisation tools in the context of scientific issues related to the topic of their doctoral thesis.

Competence

1.Doctoral students are able to solve scientific problems related to digitalisation based on independent, critical analysis, to make suggestions for innovative and digital approach in the area of the chosen research subject, which can be applied to the economic, social and organisational environment in order to develop new innovative knowledge and solutions.
