About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the course is to analyse the development trends and various aspects of global and regional energy policy, security and diplomacy. The course focuses on global energy architecture and power relations. The energy strategies of the United States, Russia and European Union are examined. The geopolitical and energy challenges and opportunities of smaller countries are also contextualized in a wider context of power relations.
Prerequisites
General understanding of international economy, power relations and diplomacy.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to characterise international aspects of energy issues and related power relations. Students will be able to analyse energy policy from the perspective of national security and diplomacy. Students will be able to identify energy security strategies of international actors.
Students will be able to demonstrate professional presentation skills and opinion formulation and expression in an international setting.
Students will demonstrate the ability to carry out independent research and interdisciplinary analysis.
Students will demonstrate the ability to analyse the role of internationa actors and characterise the priorities and instruments of energy policy.
