Objective

To develop students' knowledge about occupational and environmental psychology, the most significant theories, basic concepts, as well as the skills in the practical usage of the knowledge about occupational and environmental psychology in organisations.

Prerequisites

Not required.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Defines the terminology of environment and work psychology (an individual, a group, an organisation, environment, etc.).
Characterises the process and methods of human resources recruitment.
Describes management functions, theoretical aspects of decision-making, models of conflict settlement, ways of motivation.

Skills

1.Elaborates employees' motivation methods and guidelines, analyse the already adopted motivation programmes.
In the given situation examples evaluates employee's compliance with the type of work to be performed and gives recommendations and possible predictions.

Competence

1.Discusses the change of values and attitudes in the alternating circumstances of the labour market.
Connects the environment and working conditions (the style of management, motivation programmes, psycho-social working conditions, etc.) with different health outcomes.
