Objective

To promote knowledge acquisition about inpatient assessment, understanding of the pathogenesis of diseases and their relation with diet, by assessing risks of malnutrition and qualifying by the degree of severity. To be able to demonstrate a feasible nutrition therapy method, including inpatient diet modifications.

Prerequisites

Anatomy, Physiology, Patological Pyhsiology, Biochemistry, Nutrition Basics.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Understands and applies the evaluation of the inpatient patient's nutrition, the appliaction of appropriate nutritional therapy and the development of a menu.

Skills

Students evaluate patients diet, the required amount of nutrients, chooses the type and diet, provides appropriate dietary recommendations for patients with various diseases.

Competence

Describes the importance and possibilities of specific nutritional therapy for inpatients.
