Objective

To provide knowledge on the basics of acoustics;
To develop understanding of the importance of science in health care.

Prerequisites

Secondary school physics and mathematics course.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

To use physical terms correctly;
To explain the perception of sound and importance thereof;
To describe the physical and psychophysical parameters of sound;
To describe the effect of electromagnetic waves on the human body and protective measures against unwanted exposure.

Skills

Will be able to process physical measurement data;
Will be able to use the terms used in physics;
Will be able to solve tasks with values in decibel scales.

Competence

As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to evaluate the physical parameters of sound, the relation of sound with the quality of human speech and life.
