About Study Course
Objective
Improvement of knowledge, development of skills and acquiring of new methods in diagnostics and treatment of patients with orthopaedic trauma and diseases.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of normal and pathological anatomy, physiology, aseptic, antiseptics, propaedeutic, pharmacology, microbiology, emergency medicine and the knowledge and skills acquired in the A part study course Orthopaedics.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the Part B study course, the student will know algorithms for examination of patients with orthopaedic trauma (polytrauma and burn injuries) and patients with orthopaedic diseases, emergency orthopaedic manipulations in the admissions department, basic principles of conservative treatment, osteosynthesis, arthroscopy, large joint replacement and rehabilitation tasks.
Students will be able to carry out examination of patients with trauma (polytrauma) and burn injuries in accordance with algorithms and patients with orthopaedic diseases, perform basic emergency manipulations, osteosynthesis and arthroscopy in the simulated environment.
Students will be able to use algorithms of examination and treatment, to diagnose, plan additional examination and treatment plan, explain and justify basic principles of treatment and evaluate prognosis.
