Objective

To promote doctoral students' understanding of the social, political and legal aspects of human security and to develop interdisciplinary research skills.

Prerequisites

Human rights. Constitutional rights. Social rights. Understanding of political and economic processes at the master's level.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On completion of the study course, students are able to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of socio-legal issues. Understand the role of rights in the social security system. Apply modern research methods in the field of law in connection with the problem of social welfare.

Skills

On completion of the study course, students are able to analyse, compare, and evaluate policies and different social security systems and their relation to the socio-legal practice.

Competence

On completion of the study course, students are able to integrate aspects of sociology and social policy into legal practice and research.
