About Study Course
Objective
To ensure students with theoretical and practical education needed in Orthotics - prosthetics specialist's work with people with locomotor apparatus diseases, acquired or congenital deformities and consequences of injuries.
Prerequisites
Good knowledge in anatomy and physiology, first aid, medical terminology, neurology and radiology.
Learning outcomes
Students will gain knowledge about most common orthopedics diseases, the clinical manifestations, diagnostic and treatment principles, potential rehabilitation options and how to implement them.
Students will learn the skill to:
• investigate patients with locomotor apparatus diseases or their consequences;
• draw up the prosthetics - orthotics plan;
• orientate in radiological investigations.
Students will be able to evaluate the patient's overall condition, orthopedic problems and arrange them in order of priority. Students will have knowledge about main treatment and rehabilitation principles of every orthopedic pathology.
