Accreditation of Health Care study direction scheduled for this week
From 13 to 17 November, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is hosting a team of external experts to accredit the Health Care study direction.
The experts are meeting with lecturers, students, graduates, employers' representatives, study programme directors, faculty management, and representatives of RSU management. They are also getting acquainted with the RSU material and technical facilities in the RSU main building, the Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre, the Medical Education Technology Centre, as well as in the Liepāja branch. The experts will then issue a joint opinion on the accreditation process.
The accreditation expert group includes representatives from Klaipeda University, the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Malta, the Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences (Croatia), Akaki Tsereteli State University (Georgia), as well as the Employers' Confederation of Latvia, Daugavpils University, the Latvian Student Union, Riga First Medical College of the University of Latvia, and the Quality Agency for Higher Education.
It took more than a year and a half (from January 2022 until 4 July 2023) to prepare the accreditation documents for submission to the Quality Agency for Higher Education.
The Centre for Educational Growth supervised the accreditation process with the participation of colleagues from other departments (Human Resources Department, Research Department, Academic Affairs Department, the RSU Library), as well as the directors of all study programmes of the Health Care direction, the management of faculties and departments.
